Ngozi’s health care education began shortly after her first child was born. As a new mother, she felt unprepared to care for her new baby, and she worried that she would miss a critical sign that her infant was in distress. Ngozi began learning the basics of healthcare, including non-verbal indicators of stress, and became an increasingly confident caregiver. Through her experience, Ngozi quickly realized that medical knowledge without empathy is insufficient, and true interpersonal connection is central to the healing process. Ngozi is originally from Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Medgar Evers college, and has completed Nursing credits.
