Jim gained his first caregiving experience in high school, as a nursing home volunteer. Although Jim spent most of his career in academic publishing, he returned to caregiving as his parents’ health began to decline. This experience affirmed his understanding of the importance of good care, especially for older adults. After Jim retired, he looked for opportunities to support other family caregivers. Jim initially joined RCP as a companion, and then obtained his Home Health Aide Certificate. Jim’s hobbies including learning about all fields of science (particularly astronomy), listening to music (classical or popular oldies), and going to the beach. Jim was born and raised in Long Island. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
